Fairmont Senior’s baseball team kept its winning ways alive Saturday, picking up two wins on the road against Spring Mills and Pendleton County.
The Polar Bears beat Spring Mills, 7-2, behind Ryan Ricer’s three RBI performance. He had two hits, including a triple, and scored a run.
Gage Hannah and Austin Norman each had two hits. Hannah drove in two runs while Norman drove in one. Johnny Keesling also had a hit and an RBI while Ryder Skarzinski, Bailey Mohr and Austin Kuhn each had a hit.
On the mound, Ryan Valentine picked up the win, going 3.0 innings while giving up just three hits and striking out one. Keesling got the start and pitched 3.0 innings, giving up six hits and surrendering two runs. Norman closed things out in the 7th.
Against Pendleton County, Fairmont Senior won a close one, 1-0.
The lone run of the game came after Skarzinski doubled and was driven home by Mohr’s single in the top of the 7th inning.
Norman and Keesling also had a hit in the game.
Mohr picked up the win on the hill after coming in in relief for Norman. Mohr threw the last three innings and surrendered just two hits and struck out three while Norman pitched the first four innings, giving up one hit, walking two and striking out seven batters.
Fairmont Senior moves to 5-0 on the season.
The Polar Bears are back in action Monday when they travel to play Robert C. Byrd, a game which was originally scheduled at home but has been moved.
