Clay Battelle rolls past Rivesville

— Clay Battelle defeated Rivesville Friday night, 39-21. Abbey Ammons paced the CeeBees with 15 points, Haley Barr had six points, and Rylee Burnette had pitched in five five.

Lydia Runyan and Erin Barrett led the way for Rivesville with six points each. The CeeBees improve to 9-5. They will start tournament play against St. Francis on Tuesday.

Fairmont Catholic drops season finale

The Fairmont Catholic Lady Knights ended the regular season on a losing note, dropping a hard fought contest to St. Francis, 23-36. The Lady Knights led at the half 11-10 but could not sustain the lead to end the season at 5-7.

Amy Frosch recorded a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds. Sophie Manchin had six points, Leah Mazelon had four, Audrey Hannah scored two, and Natalie Mazelon added one.

Madison McDonald led St. Francis with eight points. Fairmont Catholic will be in action next week during the Mason-Dixon Conference Tournament beginning Monday.

Barrackville goes one for four over the last week

Barrackville Middle School’s basketball teams picked up a win over the last week.

In varsity action, Caleb Haney hit a shot at the buzzer to lead Monongah over Barrackville 30-29. Brendan Megna had 10 points and Dylan Allum scored nine for the Lions.

For the Bison, Ty Thorne had eight points, Gunner Murphy and Chase Moore each scored six and Robert Murphy added five.

In the junior varsity game, Monongah topped Barrackville, 38-30.

For the Lion's Stacy Thompson scored eight points and Eric McIntire had seven. For Barrackville, Adam Hoffman led all scorers with 11 and Dominick Owens had three.

Barrackville’s varsity team then picked up a 47-37 win over Fairview.

 Gunner Murphy led the Bison with 13 points and 3 3-pointers, Ty Thorne put up 11, Chase Moore scored nine, Robert Murphy pitched in seven and Brandon Beers added four. The Bison also went 14-21 from the free throw line.

The junior varsity, meanwhile, dropped a 29-19 game to Fairview.

Gillespie led Fairview with eight points, Clevenger & Clemons each had six points. For the Bison, Adam Hoffman led the team with 10 points and Trevor Tonkin scored six.
