Fairmont Senior, North Marion and East Fairmont wrestling squads teamed up to take the top three positions in the Big 10 wrestling tournament held on Wednesday and Thursday at Lewis County High School.
The Polar Bears hoisted the league championship trophy thanks to a combined score of 204. North edged second place with a score of 180 and East placed third with a score of 174.
“Marion County supports wrestling,” Fairmont Senior’s head coach Mark Delligatti said. “I know a lot of the older guys who come around and watch wrestling — East Fairmont has so many followers of their sport; North Marion has their people; and we have ours. Marion County has a big fan base for wrestling.
