PLEASANT VALLEY —
Float like a butterfly and sting like an East Fairmont Bee.
East Fairmont topped North Marion in the sectional softball championship game on Wednesday, 8-5.
During the showdown, both teams were amped and ready to go. With all the hype about the Danielle Fluharty versus Ashley Martin dual, Martin and the Bees wanted to end the entire discussion.
“I can’t say enough about Ashley,” East Fairmont’s head coach John Postlewait said. “She pitched all week long, and I kept asking her, ‘You good?’ She said, ‘Yeah, I’m good — give me one more inning.’ But, I can’t say enough about her; she pitched great all week long.”
You see, it was the third game of a furious series, and Martin and Fluharty were all knotted up at one game apiece.
