Errors costly for Post 17 in 5-4 loss : PHOTOS

MORGANTOWN — Fairmont Post 17 will have to do it the hard way if it hopes to win the West Virginia Legion baseball state tournament.

After 10-running Wheeling in the opening game of the tournament, Post 17 missed its opportunity to take the fast track to the finals, falling to Morgantown Post 2 at Hawley Field in Morgantown, 5-4, Thursday night.

Fairmont plays Area 5 champion Elkins today at noon. A victory will set up a rematch between Fairmont and Morgantown for the title at 7 p.m.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. After all, it was that attitude that did Fairmont in Thursday night against Morgantown.
