Postlewait pitches, hits Bees to victory

Times West Virginian

FAIRMONT — Softball season started last week in Marion County, and Tori Postlewait came out swinging ... and pitching, too.

The East Fairmont senior went 5-for-6 during the Bees’ first two games of the season. In an opening-day loss Thursday to North Marion, Postlewait was a perfect 4-for-4 at the place with a triple.

She followed it up the next day by striking out four batters and allowing just two earned runs in seven complete innings. Postlewait also helped her own cause at the dish with a double to help the Bees beat Bridgeport, 7-3, for their first win of the season.

For her strong performance, Postlewait was voted this week’s I-79 Joe Romeo’s Times West Virginian high school player of the week and will receive a coupon for a free appetizer from Applebee’s of Fairmont.
