Times West Virginian
The East Fairmont volleyball team has one lone senior: Tori Postlewait.
Postlewait has been leading the Bees all season, and this past week she led her squad to two victories.
Postlewait’s week kicked off with the Bees winning on the road against Lewis County in three sets. The Bees won 25-12, 25-13 and 25-22.
During the game, Postlewait recorded some important stats for East Fairmont.
The senior posted 10 service points, one ace, 14 assists, three kills, and one block in the three sets.
All season Postlewait has been doing it all. She can man the front line and block the team’s opposing hits. Or she can rack up aces for her team from the back line. Either way, Postlewait is counted on by her team.
Later in the week when East Fairmont welcomed in Fairmont Senior for an East-West game, she stepped up once again.
It took five sets, but after dropping the first set by 10 points to the Polar Bears, East Fairmont was able to bounce back and pick up the win in five sets.
In the match, Postlewait recorded 22 assists, two kills, two blocks and nine service points.
Postlewait has been doing it all season for the Bees, and as they start into the meat of their schedule, she will be counted on even more.
Even though Postlewait is just one of many girls on the East Fairmont volleyball team who can make plays, she remains the only senior, thus more pressure is added.
But it looks like this Bee doesn’t give in to pressure very easily.
For her solid week on the hardwood, Tori Postlewait is this week’s Times West Virginian player of the week.
