Times West Virginian
Years ago, Casey James would not have expected to be traveling all over the United States.
Performing in bars and restaurants in Texas was reward enough for him.
But after a successful run on the ninth season of “American Idol,” the opportunities seem endless. Doors are swinging wide open just a few months after the release of his self-titled debut album.
In the past two months, James has made several trips to West Virginia.
“We’re West Virginians almost,” he said.
And he is just getting started. On Saturday, James will perform at Palatine Park in the fifth annual summer country concert. Gates will open at 3 p.m. As the opening act, Marshall Lowry Band will take the stage at 5 p.m. followed by the Johnny Freak Band at approximately 6:30 p.m., Taylor Made at 7:30 p.m. and James at 8:30 p.m. Tickets will be $7 per person.
