Manchin to debate GOP challenger

— Gov. Joe Manchin plans to debate his Republican challenger but details haven’t been worked out.
Manchin spokeswoman Lara Ramsburg says it’s too early to say when and where a debate would be held. But Ramsburg says Manchin intends to debate former state Sen. Russ Weeks.
Weeks says he wants to hold seven regional debates to give voters across the state an opportunity to attend.
Manchin defeated Raleigh County freshman lawmaker Mel Kessler in Tuesday’s Democratic primary with 75 percent of the vote. Weeks was unopposed in the GOP primary.
