Two more southern states have agreed to allow West Virginians to carry concealed weapons.
Managing Deputy Attorney General Tom Smith says the state reached agreements with Mississippi to honor West Virginia concealed weapons permits in July. And Smith says an agreement with South Carolina took effect at the end of September.
The latest additions bring the number of states that recognize West Virginia concealed weapons permits to 16. West Virginia State Police data shows about 60,000 West Virginians have permits.
