Technology conference set in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN — Hundreds of technology experts are gathering in Morgantown for a conference focusing on improving classroom instruction.

The three-day West Virginia Statewide Technology Conference starts today at the Waterfront Place Hotel.

The annual conference is attended by educators, higher education representatives and state agency workers. Sessions will include discussions on transitioning to paperless classrooms, Internet safety and identifying quality games, websites and smartphone apps for learning. Dozens of vendor exhibits also will be on display.

Microsoft Corp. vice president Margo Day is scheduled to address the conference this afternoon. She leads a team that works with school and government leaders to focus on improving student learning.
