West Virginia University senior runner Jordan Hamric ended her career as a Mountaineer with a 12th-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2013 NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., on Saturday afternoon.
Hamric finished with a time of 10:16.92 and garnered second team All-America honors – the first of her career. The Bruceton Mills native becomes the 33rd athlete in WVU program history to receive All-America honors.
Hamric ends her career as the school record holder in the event, which she set in the semi-finals on Thursday at Hayward Field with a time of 10:06.47.
West Virginia University rowing senior Courtney Schrand has been named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic All-Region Second Team.
It is the second consecutive year that Schrand has been named CRCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region, as she was just the second rower in WVU history to be named to the CRCA All-Mid Atlantic Region First Team following the 2012 season.
In addition to her all-region team selection, Schrand has also garnered National Scholar-Athlete recognition from the CRCA, All-Big 12 First Team, C-USA All-Conference, C-USA All-Academic Team, C-USA Commissioner’s Medal and was part of the first varsity 8+ that earned two C-USA Boat of the Week honors and one Big 12 Boat of the Week honor.
