FAIRMONT — By Colleen S. Good

FAIRMONT — Fairmont’s Planning and Zoning Code will soon be easier for residents to understand.

During a work session Tuesday, Katherine Wyrosdick, Fairmont’s Director of Planning and Development, presented the results of a collaborative effort between the Planning Commission and the Planning Department over the past year to Fairmont City Council.

They are proposing some code changes to streamline current procedure and make some simple corrections. Wyrosdick said that they are also sending the modified code to Clearzoning, a company that takes planning and zoning code, and makes it more user-friendly. Clearzoning will reorganize the code into seven basic articles. They will also add graphics to add clarity, and hyperlink sections to make it easier to work through the document.
