Rivesville is beginning the process of forming a balanced budget.
During the last Rivesville town council meeting, the council discussed ordinances that could be enforced to help create a more balanced budget. A 2013 city ordinance about garbage will be more readily enforced.
The town can place 20 percent of the revenue generated from garbage fees into the general fund, Rivesville mayor Jim Hershman said. Currently, the town is spending 100 percent of the garbage fees to pay for the garbage.
To have more revenue, the town will begin enforcing regulations for garbage collection.
