Water drainage problems are going to be addressed and fixed in White Hall.

During Monday’s meeting, council approved a motion to start receiving bids for three projects involving drainage issues. Those projects include work on Cypress Drive, Penrose Street and Timrod Drive.

Mayor Guy Ward said the work to be done includes replacing a culvert on Cypress Drive, and pavement and drainage improvements on Penrose Street and Timrod Drive.

Also during the meeting, council unanimously approved the final reading of the town’s financial stabilization fund ordinance. Ward said with the ordinance, the town is able to put 30 percent of funds they bring in into a stabilization fund.

Council distributed funds from the Hotel/Motel Tax Fund. It approved to give the West Virginia Mountain Bike Association $800 for their Valley Falls Challenge mountain bike race on Aug. 17; the West Augusta Historical Society $2,500 for repairs to their property; and the Johnnie Johnston Jazz Festival $3,500.
