FAIRMONT — One person was taken to the hospital after a vehicle crashed into a yard of a residence in Fairmont Sunday night.

Around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle accident on East Park Avenue. Over scanner traffic dispatchers advised responders that a car had wrecked into a residence.

On scene, crews transported one person by ambulance to Fairmont General Hospital.

Neighbors of the residence said they heard a crash and ran outside to find a Honda Civic in a yard of a residence. The Civic had crashed through the guardrail and airbags in the car had deployed.

The Fairmont Police Department, Fairmont Fire Department and Marion County Rescue Squad responded to the accident.
