Monongah faced with landslide problem

MONONGAH — The Town of Monongah is trying to determine the cause of a landslide so it can move forward in fixing the problem.

There is a landslide at the Bridge Street Extension, and the town is trying to see what actions to take to prevent the road from falling.

Crews are currently drilling core samples to find out the cause of the landslide and figure out how to correct it. Monongah had money appropriated to pay for the engineering and surveying efforts, and will have to seek additional money to try to solve the problem of the landslide.
