Marion BOE revises policies

FAIRMONT — The Marion County Board of Education approved a number of small policy revisions and also approved the second reading of the Dual Credit Policy at its Monday night meeting.

The policy mirrors the requirements laid out in state policy 2510, which states that county boards of education shall adopt policies that allow students to earn credit for completing college or other advanced courses outside the school setting.

The board also approved a project to seal two more sections of East-West Stadium to preserve and weatherproof the surface.

Outside, demolition of East Fairmont Junior High is ongoing, and green space, sidewalks, fencing and lighting will be installed when it is complete.

Work also must be done on the retaining wall on Morgantown Avenue, Price said.
