FAIRMONT — The east end approach of the Third Street David Morgan Bridge has been down to one lane since Wednesday while the Department of Highways maintenance department works to replace a storm water pipe.
Workers had to dig deeper than anticipated to access the storm water pipe, so a temporary pipe will be installed by the end of the day Thursday, and the area will be backfilled. The bridge will be open to two lanes again Thursday evening through early Saturday morning.
Saturday, the bridge will be fully closed while a replacement of the pipe is completed. Motorists should use an alternate route.
The bridge will then be down to one lane while workers finish up work on the surface.
