Boy flown to hospital after being hit by car

FAIRMONT — A Fairmont boy was taken by HealthNet to Ruby Memorial Hospital after being hit by a car Friday afternoon on Ridgeley Avenue in Fairmont.

The boy, whom residents estimated to be around 9 or 10, was riding his bicycle when he was struck on the right front of the vehicle.

Fairmont City Police are releasing the name of neither the boy nor the driver. Charges are not being issued while the incident is being investigated.

Residents say other children have been hit at the same intersection. They plan to petition Fairmont City Council to install speed bumps.
