Good Morning Rivesville!

Hope everyone is well.

I would like to thank everyone that attended the Rivesville Riverfront Festival. A good time was had by all. Also, thanks to all who donated items for the baskets which were a huge hit! Hope to see everyone next year!

Congratulations to Noelle Kolb, Michelle Bradley, and Frank Moore as they were sworn in to take office last Friday evening.

Congratulations also go out to Barb Beatty as she was appointed to the council seat left open by Roy Jaworski stepping down. She was sworn in Tuesday evening at the council meeting. A big thank you to Roy for the two years he served on city council.

July 6: Rivesville United Methodist Church will hold their Randy Currey memorial hot dog sale from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. For any questions call Bonnie at (304) 278-5817 or Roxann at (304) 777-0540.

July 6: Marion County Extention service is celebrating 100 years of 4-H camping in Marion County.There will be a one day reunion for 4-H alumni, supporters, spouses, and current members. If interested in attending, call (304) 367-2772 or visit Facebook under Camp Mar-Mac Association. The fee is $20 and will include lunch and dinner. Registration is from 9-10 a.m.

July 7-11: Rivesville Baptist Church(formally MIBC) will hold their VBS “Giddy Up Junction.” Come join in some fun as they visit the old west. There will be Bible lessons, songs, games, cheering, crafts, a missionary story, cookies, a candy store and lots more fun. A Carnival day will be held on Wednesday with a bounce house, carnival games, prizes, popcorn and more, all free of charge. Children K-6th grade are welcome. The times will run 6 p.m.- 8:15 p.m. each evening. If you have any questions call (304) 278-9756 or (304) 376-1609. We will be happy to have your children come and learn of Christ and his wonderful word.

July 14: Dinner at Baxter VFD, Pork barbecue and sides, Noon-3pm. Adults $10, Kids $5. Eat in or carry out.

July 26-27: Rivesville Homecoming Reunion. Just a reminder that you don’t have to be a graduate of Rivesville High, everyone is welcome. This is a 2 day event, the first night is a weiner roast and a covered dish dinner, the 2nd day is a catered meal by Franks place, $11 covers both events. Both events will be held at the old high school, call Gary Morris at (304) 365-4053 for more information. Come out and enjoy a time with old and new friends.

Aug. 10: McCurdysville Homecoming picnic 1 p.m.-until?. Meat and soft drinks will be provided.
