Good morning, Rivesville!

Hope everyone is well.

The Rivesville Homecoming Reunion is just around the corner from July 26-27. Just a reminder, you don’t have to be a graduate of Rivesville High and everyone is welcome. This is a two-day event, with the first night being a wiener roast and a covered dish dinner. The second day is a catered meal by Frank’s Place, and $11 covers both events.

Both events will be held at the old high school. Call Gary Morris at (304) 365-4053 for more information. Come out and enjoy a time with old and new friends.

There will be a clothing giveaway today at the Pumpkin Center Church of Christ from 9 a.m. to Noon. Clothes for all ages. The church is located 1/2-mile north of Fairview on Route 218, DayBrook Rd.

This is the last chance to get the gun raffle tickets that are being sold by Grant Town. Proceeds will send a police officer to the Academy.

The gun being raffled off is an American Tactical AR-15 Omni Hybrid Maxx P3. The winner will be determined by the W.Va. Daily 3 lotto drawing held on July 24. To purchase a ticket, which costs $10 per ticket, stop in the office of Grant Town Water Department or Greater Paw Paw Sanitary District.

There are two chances to win on the ticket.

A pasta dinner to benefit Joe Meluzio will be held at the Grant Town Community Building on Saturday July 27 from 3-6 p.m. The cost of the meal is by donation, and you can eat in or carryout.

The meal will consist of pasta and meatballs, salad, rolls, and dessert. Joe was raised in Grant Town, played sports and graduated from Fairview High School. He is now battling health issues and could use your help. Joe was an active member in the community and coached youth sports.

For more information, call (304) 203-8229 or (304) 290-9268.

Dates to remember:

Aug. 3: Rabies Clinic from 9 a.m.-Noon at the McCurdysville Community Building. For any questions call (304) 278-5469 or (304) 278-5905.
