What a great day to celebrate all the veterans in our community and country!

Atha Reunion

Our thoughts and prayers go out to two members of the Atha family and their relatives! You will be missed! Edith Jo Foley, 94 years of age, always had a smile when she attended our reunion. Edith was from Grafton and she will be missed.

Denzil Atha, 88 years of age, flew all the way from Arizona every year with his wife Ann, to attend our reunion. He was a 26-year veteran of United States Air Force.

Town of White Hall Council Meeting

Because of Veterans Day, the next council meeting will be held tomorrow, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Public Safety Building at 118 Tygart Mall Loop. Mayor John Michael will open the ceremonies with the Pledge of Allegiance, prayer, call to order, roll call of officers, and approval of the minutes.

Citizens’ concerns will be held next with a three minute time limit (sign-up sheet must be filled out before the meeting.)

Communications and announcements; Community Wellness Workshop, and update on the Express Library, along with any Public Hearing.

Reports are; Volunteer Fire Department, Public Safety Building, Annexation Committee, police, legal, maintenance/public works department, and Town Coordinator.

Unfinished Business will be followed by New Business: Consider Chris Kniceley’s recommendations for Workers Compensation Insurance; Consider taking over Roxbury Road and assuming street repairs as a part of our street project list; consider approval of Fire Department Lease agreement; consider E-Cycling Day with Shermantic of Fairmont on Nov. 23, 2019; consider Lease Agreement for snowplow truck; consider EMS monthly lease charge; Executive Session-client attorney privilege; consider moving Beth Delloma to the position of Event Planner/HR Representative; consider sending Chaz Mancino-Echols to Police Academy; and consider pay scale adjustments.

The meeting will close with final remarks from the council and adjournment.

White Hall Elementary School

This week, the White Hall students are able to purchase Christmas Toy Shop stockings to color in support of the Marion County Christmas Toy Shop.

The PTO is selling Colasessano’s pizzas and pepperoni rolls. Call the school at (304) 367-2158 for further information.

Fundraiser Pasta Dinner

The Pasta Dinner will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, from Noon to 5 p.m. at the Eldora United Methodist Church at 23 Sapps Run Rd. You may dine in or take-out. $8 adult and $5 child.
