Fairmont Regional Medical Center hires new CEO

FAIRMONT — Fairmont Regional Medical Center (FRMC) has announced that Robert Adcock has been named its new chief executive officer.

According to the FRMC press release, Adcock comes to Fairmont Regional Medical Center from St. Louis, where he has served in various health-care roles since 2003. He most recently served as CEO of two specialty hospitals and as CEO, administrator and COO of a multi-campus neighborhood hospital.

The hiring came after the retirement of Margaret “Peggy” Coster April 30.

Coster had been employed by FRMC for almost 38 years and had served as the CEO since 2013.

Adcock brings more than 30 years of senior leadership experience in the health-care industry to Fairmont. His experience as an operational leader includes past chief executive officer, administrator, chief operating officer, associate administrator, assistant administrator and multi-department director roles at numerous progressive health-care organizations.

“I am looking forward to joining the team at Fairmont Regional Medical Center and continuing the great work that has been achieved to provide quality care to the residents of Fairmont and Marion County,” said Adcock in the press release.

As CEO, Adcock will work closely with the leadership teams at Fairmont Regional Medical Center and Alecto Healthcare Services in providing strategic and operational leadership for the hospital.

Fairmont Regional Medical Center has serviced the communities of Marion County for more than 100 years by providing award-winning patient-centric care.

Adcock will work directly with community leaders throughout North Central West Virginia to strengthen the relationships between the hospital and the people it serves.

“The FRMC Advisory Board wishes to welcome Mr. Bob Adcock to the hospital and the Fairmont community,” said chairman Toni Nesselrotte in the press release. “The board looks forward to working with Mr. Adcock as we move FRMC forward in continuing to provide quality health care to the Fairmont, Marion County and surrounding areas.”

Adcock is a native of Alabama and received his master of business administration degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham and his bachelor of science degree in commerce and business administration with a major in health-care management from the University of Alabama.

Adcock is board certified in health-care management and a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Adcock is married and has three daughters.

Adcock is expected to join Fairmont Regional Medical Center in early June.
