FAIRMONT — A 26-year-old woman faces her third offense for shoplifting after she allegedly removed $55.16 in items from the Sheetz store on June 8 in Fairmont.

A criminal complaint states that Sara Marti Platt, of 134 Bourbon St., Fairmont faces the felony offense.

According to the court papers, Platt allegedly concealed in her clothing, and in another manner, merchandise and consumable goods totaling $55.16, including tax, from Sheetz at 1000 Fairmont Ave. at approximately 10 a.m. June 8, and then removed the items from the store.

The complaint states that Platt was seen June 12 on closed circuit television allegedly removing the items and putting in her purse and pockets. According to police, she removed a USB charger, USB cord, micro cable, car charger, five Kidsmania Flash Pops, a fruit cup, two cookie dough dips, a jumbo bun, cheese Danish, and soft serve ice cream.

Platt was identified by other officers at Fairmont Police Department to allegedly be the suspect in the security footage, the complaint states.

According to the court papers, Platt has a prior conviction for shoplifting 2nd offense on May 2, 2014 through Harrison County Magistrate Court and a prior conviction for shoplifting through Harrison County Magistrate Court on May 1, 2013.

Court records show Platt’s bail was set at $3,012, which was posted.
