Two buildings are causing an awful lot of controversy downtown.
City council is even holding a special meeting Tuesday on a decision regarding those two buildings.
The buildings are jointly known as the Spatafore building. They’re located at the corner of First Street and Fairmont Avenue. Most folks have driven past them hundreds or thousands of times and probably not given them a second look. One is red brick and one is yellow brick.
They’re the two buildings right before drivers cross the bridge into downtown Fairmont.
The buildings are located across Fairmont Avenue from Traction Square, which has been redeveloped in recent years by the Fairmont Community Development Partnership. There are now several businesses there, as well as the FCDP offices.
