People from the North Marion attendance area spoke up Thursday night about what they want for the next school bond.

During a special session held at North Marion High School, the Marion County Board of Education met with Local School Improvement Council chairs, mayors, parents, teachers and community members to hear what they would like to happen with the schools in the area.

“We are ready to start on this end of the county, and we do want to get a bond together,” said board president Dr. Babette Simms.

She explained that the county will not qualify for money from the School Building Authority of West Virginia if remodeling or repairing the old schools, but will have to pay for those projects on its own.
