A contract with an international records management company approved by Marion Commissioners this week stands to alleviate overcrowding in the county’s records room.

After some discussion over an addendum that two of the three commissioners ruled unnecessary, the commission ultimately approved a five-year service agreement with ACS Enterprise Solutions Inc. that will add six computer terminals for customers to look up and print leases and deeds recorded in the county’s many land books.

ACS offers information technology products and services associated with the keeping of government records. The county has had a contract with the company for several years, and the agreement signed this week will renew it for an additional five years.

County Clerk Janice Cosco explained that the price of obtaining copies is going up through this agreement, and six terminals are being added to the three that the county currently has, making a total of nine.
