City council is moving forward to find a new mayor.
The Pleasant Valley City Council met in regular session Wednesday, two days after former Mayor Jack Bish abruptly tendered his resignation.
Councilman-at-Large George Boyles will fill the mayor’s role on an interim basis for two weeks. During that time, interested citizens may come to the municipal building to fill out an application with City Clerk Beckie Teets.
On Wednesday, Sept. 29, council will hold a special session to review the applications and appoint the new mayor.
The meeting was called to order by Boyles, who began by praising Bish for his long service to the city.
“He was instrumental in setting the city up,” Boyles said. “We owe him a sincere debt of gratitude.”
