Terry Frederic

Red Cross office assistant Terry Frederick prepares one of the kits given out to a fire or flood victim.

Robin Moore has been executive director of the American Red Cross for this section of the state for 15 years. For the past eight years, her main office has been in Clarksburg.

“The only thing the Clarksburg office had when we merged was a little more staff,” she says. “I was the only paid staff member in Fairmont. We have more staff here. The women in our Marion County office don’t have to do book work or things like that.

“They concentrate on service delivery. That means they will set up their CPR classes, talk to area businesses about their needs on first aid and CPR training. If there is a fire tonight, we’ll work with local residents. We handle military calls also.”

Seven counties covered

She says the Clarksburg office, the North Central West Virginia Chapter, covers Marion, Harrison, Barbour, Doddridge, Lewis, Upshur and Randolph counties.
