FAIRMONT — A second person has been charged in connection with an incident earlier this year in Worthington in which police said stolen property was found in a bed in where two people were sleeping.

The complaint states that Andrea Marie Bland, 24, of 813 Barbara Heights 204, Shinnston was charged with felony burglary. She was jailed Aug. 29 and is in the North Central Regional Jail in lieu of $10,012 bail, court records show.

According to the court papers, a West Virginia State Police corporal responded May 15 to an address on High Street in Worthington to speak to the victim of a burglary.

While investigating, the corporal found “dozens of tools” stolen from the victim’s attached garage, the complaint states.

The corporal then recovered all the stolen items from the neighbor’s residence, where he met John Huey III and Bland, who had just woken up, the complaint states. Huey was also charged with felony burglary, according to a criminal complaint.

According to the court papers, the corporal found the stolen property in the “very bed” both were sleeping in. The corporal said he also located “hidden property” in the bedroom where both were sleeping. The complaint doesn’t specify what type of “hidden property” was found.

The corporal said neither Bland nor Huey had any memory of “what exactly happened the night prior to the reported burglary.”
