FAIRMONT — A 36-year-old Fairmont woman is charged with shoplifting 3rd offense after allegedly taking merchandise from Sheetz June 15 in Fairmont.

The criminal complaint states that Brandy Ann Fluharty of 826 1/2 Gaston Ave., Fairmont faces the felony offense.

According to the court papers, Fluharty allegedly took $14.82 of “consumable merchandise” from Sheetz at 1000 Fairmont Ave., without paying for the items.

Police used video footage to confirm the theft and identified Fluharty as the suspect.

A review of Fluharty’s criminal history showed she was charged at least two times with shoplifting 3rd offense, according to the complaint. The police officer investigating the case found a 2018 case in which Fluharty was charged with shoplifting 3rd. The officer found that Fluharty’s 1st offense conviction was on Aug. 5, 2015 and her 2nd offense conviction was on Feb. 22, 2016, the complaint states.

Court records show Fluharty’s bail was set at $20,012. At press time, she remained in the North Central Regional Jail.
