Standout Fairmont Senior football star Trevor Malnick will stay close to home to play college football.
Fairmont State University added Malnick to its list of recruits who have signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Falcons this fall.
Malnick, who played both quarterback and was somewhat of a hybrid between safety and linebacker on defense while at FSHS, had a stellar senior season in 2011. The Polar Bear captain threw for 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns while running for 1,098 yards and averaging more than 100 yards per game on the ground. He also totaled 100.5 tackles, including 11 tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles and sack.
