Fairmont’s 9-10-year-old all-stars won their pool at the District 5 tournament with a 12-7 win over Central.

Tyler Weiss was the winning pitcher and also singled in the win.

Jared Harr led the offense with a pair of singles and four RBI, Gage Hannah had a single and RBI double, Colton Toothman a RBI single, Sterling Fitzwater drove in a pair of runs and Ronnie Mills, Brian Aversa and James Bolander all singled in the win.

Central was led by D.J. Murphy with a triple, Michael Cross with an RBI single, Justin Fridley with a hit and Andrew Burge with an RBI.

In the other game, Belington defeated Fringe, 9-1.

Tyler Robinson threw a no-hitter and struck out 14 in the win. He also tripled.

Doug Smith had a double, a pair of singled and two RBI, Saige Klein drove in two runs and singled, Sean Wolf had an RBI double and Zach Howdershelt singled in the win.

Chris Petrucci scored the only run for Fringe.

Fairmont will now take on Worthingon (Parkersburg) at 7:30 p.m. and Bridgeport will battle Belington at 5:30 p.m. today in Bridgeport.
