North Marion’s Zach Tennant runs ahead of the pack at an NCAC cross country meet at White Day Golf Course. Tennant won the boys’ race.

North Marion’s Zach Tennant continues to dominate the Class AAA boys’ cross country scene.

Tennant easily won the North Central Athletic Conference meet at White Day Golf Course Wednesday with a time of 16:53.06.

Elkins’ Ben Proudfoot was next across the finish line at 17:17.19.

But it was West Fairmont’s team that took home the team title with three runners in the Top 12.

Patrick Stanton led the Polar Bears, finishing fourth with a time of 17:18.32. Gannon Flowers followed in eighth (17:37.43), and David Ciarolla was 11th (17:47.07) to pace the Bears.

West won the meet with 70 points.

Morgantown was second (80), followed by University (82), North Marion (88), Preston (104), Elkins (113), Buckhannon (139) and East Fairmont (177).

West was also led by Joseph Vozniak (17th, 18:10.27) and Zach Herberger (30th, 19:15.72).

North Marion’s Jeremy Gouzd came in 9th (17:42.07), Neil Bland was 12th (17:48.90), John Craw was 32nd (19:34.66), Kenny Burnley was 34th (19:38.70), Brandon Latocha was 42nd (19:59.31) and Andrew Stanley was 47th (20:33.96).

East Fairmont’s boys’ team was led by Michael Ebbert in 16th (18:03.35), Ronnie Cosco in 33rd (19:37.57), Hunter Wood in 41st (19:55.45), Earnest Scott in 43rd (20:15.83), Justin Speelman in 44th (20:22.22) and Andrew Licata in 46th (20:29.46).

Elkins’ Letitia Propst won the girls’ race with a time of 19:45.23, just seconds ahead of Morgantown’s Allison Pettit (19:50.63).

North Marion’s Jordan McDonald was 3rd (20.17.80).

University won the meet with 51 points. Morgantown was second (66), followed by North Marion (91), West Fairmont (118), Elkins (132), Preston (134), Buckhannon (148) and East Fairmont (175).

In addition to McDonald, the Huskies were led by Marcie Mason (16th, 21:27.44), Cassy Menas (18th, 21:34.64), Kelly Humphreys (24th, 22:07.53), Brittany Reynolds (30th, 22:33.81), Sarah Ray (35th, 23:02.19) and Paige Tuttle (42nd, 23:42.98).

West Fairmont was paced by Chelsea Clark in 5th (20:31.35), Alyssa Scherich in 13th (21:12.76); Olivia Duke in 23rd (21:59.12), Meaghen Broadwater in 38th (23:10.09), Tori Hawkins in 39th (23:17.09), Alyssa Ruberto in 41st (23:37.25) and Kelsey Ash in 46th (24:24.05).

Megan Wilson led East Fairmont with a 25th-place finish in 22:13.25. Michaela Luckey was 29th (22:21.72), Debra Smith was 34th (22:55.12), Lindsey Mills was 43rd (23:50.53), Rebecca Haught was 44th (24:05.53), Lacey Smith was 51st (25:53.55) and Shannon Moore was 53rd (26:14.95).
